FAQ

Questions, answered.

The things people most often ask before working with us: what we do, how we price, and how a project runs. If yours is not here, just ask.

Working with us

What does wpagency.xyz actually do?
We are a full-service digital agency, working since 2009. We design, build, and maintain software, web and mobile apps, websites, and the SEO and growth systems around them. The name is a nod to our WordPress roots, but the work spans well beyond it.
What kinds of businesses do you work with?
Established small and mid-sized businesses across the US and Canada, including professional services, ecommerce, local service businesses, and founder-led brands, that treat their website and software as infrastructure rather than a brochure.
Do you work remotely?
Yes. We work remotely with clients across the US and Canada, with a mix of scheduled calls and async updates so projects keep moving without a calendar full of meetings.
The name says WordPress. Do you only build WordPress sites?
No. WordPress is one specialism among several. We also build on Astro, develop custom software and apps, and run SEO and paid growth. One of our most common projects is in fact migrating WordPress sites to Astro for speed and security.

What we build

Do you build mobile apps?
Yes. We design and build mobile and web apps for iOS and Android, native or cross-platform, from a first MVP through to a production product with real users.
Can you build custom software, not just websites?
Yes. Alongside marketing sites we build web applications, internal tools, dashboards, and SaaS products. If it runs in a browser or on a phone, it is in scope.
Do you handle ecommerce?
Yes. We build and improve online stores, whether on a platform like WooCommerce or Shopify or as a custom build, with a focus on speed, conversion, and a checkout that stays out of the way.
Do you do branding and design?
Yes. We create brand and identity systems: naming, logos, visual language, and the design systems that keep a growing product looking consistent everywhere.
Do you build games?
Yes. Game development is one of our services. If you have a concept, we are glad to talk through scope, platform, and feasibility before anything is committed.

Scope & engagement

Can you take over an existing site or project?
Often, yes. We regularly inherit existing sites and codebases to fix performance, redesign, harden security, improve SEO, or migrate to a faster stack. We start with an audit so we both know exactly what we are working with.
Do you offer ongoing maintenance, or only one-off builds?
Both. Some clients come for a single build or migration; many stay on a retainer for maintenance, performance monitoring, and continued SEO and growth work. We recommend whichever fits how you operate.
What is the difference between a WordPress build and a WordPress-to-Astro migration?
A WordPress build gives you a CMS-driven site your team can update freely. A WordPress-to-Astro migration rebuilds that site as static, near-instant pages, sometimes keeping WordPress as a headless editor behind the scenes. We help you choose based on how the site is actually used.

Growth, performance & SEO

Will a faster site actually help my rankings?
Yes, on two fronts. Core Web Vitals are a confirmed Google ranking signal, and faster pages convert more of the visitors you already have. Speed is one of the few levers that helps search and sales at the same time.
Do you guarantee first-page Google rankings?
No, and we would be wary of anyone who does. Nobody controls Google's results. What we do control is the technical foundation, content, and authority that earn durable visibility, and we report on the metrics that genuinely move.
How is your SEO approach different?
We build for durability, not loopholes. We avoid the mass programmatic "doorway" pages that recent Google core updates have been actively penalising, and focus instead on real technical SEO, useful content, and topical authority that compounds over years.
Do you run paid ads as well as SEO?
Yes. We run paid advertising on Google and Meta alongside SEO and conversion work, so the traffic you buy and the traffic you earn are managed as one strategy rather than in separate silos.
Do you do local SEO?
Yes. For businesses that serve a specific area we handle local SEO: Google Business Profile, citations, reviews, and location content that helps you show up in the map results where nearby customers are searching.

Process, pricing & timelines

How much does a project cost?
Every project is scoped individually, so we quote per project rather than from a price list. After a short discovery conversation we send a clear, fixed-scope proposal, with no surprise hourly bills.
How long does a typical project take?
It depends on scope. A focused website or migration can land in a few weeks; larger software and app builds run over months. You will get a realistic timeline in the proposal before anything starts.
How do you communicate during a project?
You get a single point of contact and regular progress updates, with a mix of scheduled calls and async messaging. We aim to keep you genuinely informed without filling your calendar with status meetings.
How do we get started?
Tell us what you are trying to build or fix on the contact page, or email hello@wpagency.xyz. We will set up a short discovery call, then send a proposal with scope, timeline, and cost.
